All over the map….

A few items of note today…..

Hard to believe it’s been 70 years since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor! We’re DEFINITELY not the same country today. You saw a brief spell of togetherness following 9/11. But that quickly dissipated as efforts to combat terrorism were demonized by the left with their unceasing bitterness toward President Bush. A bitterness that existed well before that September morning. I seriously doubt ANY act of aggression against the United States will ever again galvanize the people to defeat a common enemy. The elements in our nation which would far prefer to apologize for defensive behavior will not relent in their zeal to punish this nation for ANY perceived wrong doing.

President Obama continues his class warfare tour…a.k.a., campaign stint. Grasping yet at another theme, hoping something sticks, he is trying to resonate with voters. Whether it works or not, well…that’s up to you. He fails to realize that demonizing the well today in the eyes of the struggling does not provide ANYONE with ANYTHING but bitterness and resentment. And he’s hoping to ride that train to a second term. Claiming the “rich don’t pay their fair share” is not a remedy at reigning in out of control federal spending. Of course, federal spending has become the way to make a living for many in this country. And, as reported at The Economic Collapse, we have the very “provider” to blame for it.

20 SIGNS THE CULTURE OF GOVERNMENT DEPENDENCE HAST GOTTEN COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL

We have The Politico today reporting the Obama White House may have their hands full with a Republican nominee in Newt Gingrich. The piece notes “a wary recognition that Gingrich may be catching a wave that is both powerful and unpredictable.” Can’t exactly say that about their preferred nominee, Mitt Romney. Now can you?…. Unfortunately, you have the Republican and conservative elites living in fear also. They don’t like the idea of a candidate that can actually speak to the point,  is NOT afraid to speak his mind, and call it as he sees it. I believe, as most do, Gingrich would OBLITERATE President Obama in a debate. He might begin with “Where do I start?…some many things to choose from regarding the disastrous direction you’re taking this country, Mr. President!”

WHY NEWT’S SURGE IS FOR REAL!

And finally…..

CRITIC’S CORNER WEDNESDAY – Robert Bianco @ USA Today

‘THE MIDDLE, PEARL HARBOR’

* Tonight, ABC’s superlative family comedy The Middle (8 ET/PT) offers a true rarity: a Christmas-themed outing that actually addresses issues of faith. The result is an episode that is as original and honest as the show itself.

The more comic story involves Frankie’s lack of faith in Mike’s gift-giving abilities.

But the plot that will catch viewers’ attention centers on Brick (Atticus Shaffer), whose Bible study has left him with more questions than answers.

Sue turns to Rev. TimTom to “fix” him, but his solution is not what she expects — or what sitcoms usually mandate.

Before people who won’t bother to watch begin to scream, the episode never mocks religious beliefs.

History commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor with Pearl Harbor: 24 Hours After (8 ET/PT).

This two-hour special is based on historian Steve Gillon’s fascinating, eye-opening account of that crucial first day of conflict, Pearl Harbor: FDR Leads the Nation Into War.
