Remembering …or FORGETTING..2013!

Not exactly one of the better years for our nation no matter where you fall in the political spectrum. The idiocy of Obamacare took center stage. And I believe it’s safe to say it’s every bit the DISASTER it was predicted to be. And the scary part?..it’s just beginning!

With the year’s end, thought it would be pertinent to relive some of the high points of 2013 in the form of idiotic quotes from prominent Democrats! Courtesy of STUPID STUFF DEMOCRATS SAY on Facebook…

These few examples represent just the TIP of the iceberg! And lest you forget, THESE are the people in charge..making decisions..influencing decisions! It is a frightening thought to consider that so MANY Americans live their lives based upon what these idiotic and DANGEROUS individuals say and do!…

Hopefully,  2014 will see a badly needed injection of common sense in government. But, if I were betting on that possibility, the odds are I would lose.

WHEN BARACK OBAMA MET VLADIMIR PUTIN

I could go on…but, I think you get the point….

The federal government has a long tradition of ignoring the REAL problems Americans face in their day to day lives. And though I applaud yesterday’s Supreme Court decisions, they will have little, if any impact, on the lives of most. Gay or straight.

We have a nation struggling with debt, unemployment, rising costs in nearly every sector, along with countless other valid, significant problems. And as long as President Obama and the Democrats can distract you with gay marriage, immigration, women’s reproduction, etc., etc., etc….you name it…then these troubles can be ignored. But the time will come when all of this comes tumbling down and we will be left to pick up the pieces…if we can.

Think about it!…

Found an excellent piece by ‘The White House Dossier’s’ Keith Koffler. It was actually written for ‘The Politico’. I’ve followed the site for some time. However, this is the first time I’ve had an opportunity to feature a posting. It’s a great take on the growing arrogant attitude displayed by Mr. Obama….

OBAMA’S HUBRIS PROBLEM

“Tuesday morning, a peculiar announcement trickled out of the White House press office: President Barack Obama would be holding a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston bombings. At the White House. By himself. No press or other intruders allowed.

Except the White House photographer.

That Obama assumed Americans would want an iconic photo of him privately mourning the victims of the bombings was emblematic of a kind of hubris that has enveloped the president and his White House as the president commences his second term.
130422213929-10-boston-nation-mourns-0422-horizontal-gallery

Hubris in a leader is an obnoxious thing, leading to imperiousness in governing. And it’s also a dangerous thing for a second-term president, often spelling trouble.

Unfortunately, this president’s acts of high handedness and self-absorption have been accumulating in the past several months at a blistering pace.

Even as the nation’s workers wilted under a struggling economy and high unemployment, Obama decided to take two round excursions to Hawaii at taxpayer expense over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Just six weeks later, he jetted down to Florida for a luxury four-day golf vacation where he played with Tiger Woods. Meanwhile Michelle Obama also took another vacation, skiing in Colorado.

"Hey!...We're entitled to have a good time!..."

“Hey!…We’re entitled to have a good time!…”

'Damn!...Just missed it!"

‘Damn!…Just missed it!”

"I said DON'T look at the camera!"

“I said DON’T look at the camera!”

Even as the sequester began to force those who work for him in the federal government to take furloughs and government services were scaled back – including, famously, the White House tours – Obama stepped up his golf, roaring out of the White House in his motorcade three Saturdays in a row for the 50-minute round trip drive to the Joint Base Andrews course.

"Aww...yeah!..."

“Aww…yeah!…”

In a true Marie Antoinette moment, Obama offered to pare back his pay by five percent as a show of empathy for those being furloughed. At annual salary of $400,000, that would force him to get by on a meager $380,000, in addition to a couple of hundred thousand extra dollars he can probably expect to make this year from book sales.

He had Memphis soul music legends throw a command performance for himself and the first lady in the East Room. He commended California’s attorney general for being the hottest of all the state AGs. He gave himself an exclusive viewing in the White House theater of the Jackie Robinson biopic, “42.”

"You know...you're hot as sh*t!"

“We really didn’t know what this movie was about, but I thought, ‘what the hell!…It’ll make us look good!’…So..here we are!”

On Saturday night, he’ll be partying with journalists and their celebrity guests at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association bash.

All while the nation continues to suffer under his stewardship of the economy.

When gun legislation he backed failed to pass last week, he threw an epic hissy fit in the Rose Garden, proclaiming his opponents liars who thought “it wasn’t worth it” to protect kids from gun violence.

"That's right..Congress f**ked up my plans to blame Republicans for this...I know and you know this has NOTHING to do with guns or saving lives...it's about control..."

“That’s right..Congress f**ked up my plans to blame Republicans for this…I know and you know this has NOTHING to do with guns or saving lives…it’s about control…”

He said contemptuously that what “binds Republicans together” is their commitment to helping the rich. He delivered his budget two months late to Congress.

"As President, it's my job..and my ONLY job...to blame Republicans for EVERYTHING...It doesn't matter whether there's any truth or logic to it...it will ALWAYS be their fault...And the media buys this garbage..hook, line, and sinker..."

“As President, it’s my job..and my ONLY job…to blame Republicans for EVERYTHING…It doesn’t matter whether there’s any truth or logic to it…it will ALWAYS be their fault…And the media buys this garbage..hook, line, and sinker…”

Such disregard for appearances and disdain for his opposition suggests a president who perceives himself as free from the fetters that keep normal people in line and give presidents a sense of perspective.

Obama is already giving off that “L’etat, c’est moi” vibe, effectively legislating from the Oval Office.

He is picking and choosing which laws to enforce – like deciding not to deport certain groups of immigrants who would have been protected by the failed Dream Act and opting not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act.

"I will only support legislation and enforce laws when it benefits me politically..."

“I will only support legislation and enforce laws when it benefits me politically…”

This could be just the beginning. He vowed last week, as he has in the past, to advance his gun control agenda on his own. “Even without Congress, my administration will keep doing everything it can to protect more of our communities,” Obama said.

The vast new Obamacare law gives him an endless array of regulations to implement, offering a cornucopia of opportunities to interpret the statute in ways that give him powers he shouldn’t have. The 900-page immigration bill may do the same, should it pass.

But hubris may not only lead a president to stretch power, it can result in abuse of power.

Certainly the core of Watergate was corruption, but only a sense of hubris could have convinced Richard Nixon – late in his first term – that he could get away with the covering it up.

When Bill Clinton bounded out of the White House residence to see Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office, he had to believe he was impervious to the rules that govern others – not just because of his behavior, but because he thought he wouldn’t get caught in flagrante delicto in the fishbowl that is the White House.

And what special exemption from reality did Ronald Reagan think he had when he convinced himself that he wasn’t paying ransom when he sent arms to Iran to try to secure the release of hostages the controlled in Lebanon?

If Obama starts to get too grand a sense of himself and sheds the last vestiges of concern for how others perceive him, it could lead him, as it has so many in positions of power, to believe he is beyond accountability. And that could end up as a tragedy for him, and for the nation.”

What’s worth watching, and what might not be,  in prime time on Monday

The Bachelor, ABC 8pm ET/PT

TheBachelor2013-480x398

“Tonight, if tradition holds, the Bachelor is going to make some young woman very happy — namely, the one he doesn’t pick who gets to be the nextBachelorette. Because clearly, considering the series’ romantic track record, the only reason any sensible person would take part in this nonsensical trash is for the opportunity to take part in it again as the star.

The Following, Fox 9pm ET/PT

The-Following-Cast-Promotional-Group-Photos-the-following-32576268-2700-3900

Back in the ’60s there was a TV series called The F.B.I. that some felt was an egregiously shameless bureau recruiting tool masquerading as a show. Well, if TV amends needed to be made, The Following is bending over backwards to do so, because this makes FBI agents, who just let America’s worst serial killer escape from custody, look like the most bumbling, incompetent people on earth. We understand the bad guy has to elude his pursuers in shows like this, or else there’s no show. But this still-promising, often-frightening series has to find a way to keep its story running that does not constantly seem to depend on the heroes being 10 steps behind — because that’s already wearing thin.

Dallas. TNT 9pm ET/PT

xxx-dallas-jr-graveside-ep-208---jrs-masterpiece-photographer--4_3_r536_c534

TNT’s reboot marks that passing of J.R. Ewing — and Larry Hagman — with a funeral that will be attended by characters from both the new and the old shows. To say Hagman will be much missed by fans is to state the obvious, but his loss will also be keenly felt by TNT. It’s hard enough to watch this second-rate remake with him; watching it without him seems impossible.”

What they’re REALLY saying in Charlotte – Special DNC edition!

There’s no way I could let the gathering of idiots in Charlotte pass without covering what the REAL message is! Speaker after speaker has paraded before the cameras…but, you’re not getting the TRUTH about what they’re saying. Fortunately, for you, I’ve taken care of that!

.”.Because..you see..there ain’t no way in hell a man like Barack Obama could be elected to ANY office in the state of Texas!…Fortunately, for him, there are enough idiots here..in this hall..and across the country that don’t have the sense to know better!…”

“Hey…Barack is a good father…a good husband…but he don’t know SHIT about being a good President!”

“Thank you!…I know you all appreciate that under my leadership, the Democratic party has become a divisive, freakin’ laughing stock!..I will continue to convey our message with more and more moronic statements and lies!…Thank you!”

“As if there’s not already enough hot air around here, I’m glad you all appreciate a worthless, fu*king blow hard like me!…I’ve managed to parlay that into a pretty good life…at taxpayer’s expense, mind you!”

“Just to remind you…I haven’t done a goddamned thing as the worthless, spineless weasly leader of the Majority  in the Senate…and I intend NEVER to change that…because, as a party, Democrats have no conviction…and no leadership ability..we’re opportunists and scavengers..and we promote that in American society…”

“Yes…as you can see my the graphic behind me, under my leadership in the House, we managed to pass the most costly, complex and worthless piece of legislation EVER crafted in the United States!…And I hope to continue my idiotic efforts to destroy this nation!”…

“I just want to..again..convey the message that the taxpayers should take care of all of my needs…housing..food..sex toys..rubbers…the good kind..not the cheap shit..because…I REEEEALLY don’t want to fu*k up my life with a kid…and I know the Democrats support this!”

“Now just because we don’t mention ‘God’…you can’t say we don’t believe in God..I mean most people in our party DO NOT..but..my point is..YOU can’t say that!..It’s true..but…you can’t say it..”

“I really don’t have a damned clue about where I came from…what I’m doing…or even what I’m saying, for that matter…but that should be enough to get enough votes from stupid people…which is what we, as Democrats, excel in!”

self explanatory….

The King of Wishful Thinking….’Lost and Unfocused’…

So I heard there was a speech last night…I didn’t waste my time watching it…A&E’s ‘Coma’ proved more riveting than listening to the accolades heaped on Barack Obama. Not to mention the parade of speakers feeding America the same, worn out lines of bullshit.

I’m sure Michelle Obama’s presentation was admirable as she tried to sell the country on the foolish premise of giving her husband four more years in the White House. That being said, more articles are appearing in the media focused on what little we REALLY know about Barack Obama.

Rich Karlgaard at Forbes offers his take on a damaging piece from this past Sunday’s (Sept. 2, 2012) New York Times…yes, you read that correctly…THE NEW YORK TIMES!

On the other hand, if you think about it…NONE of it is really surprising!…

NEW YORK TIMES PROVES CLINT EASTWOOD CORRECT: OBAMA IS LOUSY CEO!

A Sunday New York Times front page story — New York Times! — might have killed President Obama’s re-election hopes.

The story is called “The Competitor in Chief — Obama Plays To Win, In Politics and Everything Else.” It is devastating.

With such a title, and from such a friendly organ, at first I thought Jodi Kantor’s piece would be a collection of Obama’s greatest political wins: His rapid rise in Illinois, his win over Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primaries, the passage of health care, and so on.

But the NYT piece is not about any of that. Rather, it is a deep look into the two outstanding flaws in Obama’s executive leadership:

1. How he vastly overrates his capabilities:

But even those loyal to Mr. Obama say that his quest for excellence can bleed into cockiness and that he tends to overestimate his capabilities. The cloistered nature of the White House amplifies those tendencies, said Matthew Dowd, a former adviser to President George W. Bush, adding that the same thing happened to his former boss. “There’s a reinforcing quality,” he said, a tendency for presidents to think, I’m the best at this.

2. How he spends extraordinary amounts of time and energy to compete in — trivialities.

For someone dealing with the world’s weightiest matters, Mr. Obama spends surprising energy perfecting even less consequential pursuits. He has played golf 104 times since becoming president, according to Mark Knoller of CBS News, who monitors his outings, and he asks superior players for tips that have helped lower his scores. He decompresses with card games on Air Force One, but players who do not concentrate risk a reprimand (“You’re not playing, you’re just gambling,” he once told Arun Chaudhary, his former videographer).

His idea of birthday relaxation is competing in an Olympic-style athletic tournament with friends, keeping close score. The 2009 version ended with a bowling event. Guess who won, despite his history of embarrassingly low scores? The president, it turned out, had been practicing in the White House alley.

Kantor’s piece is full of examples of Obama’s odd need to dominate his peers in everything from bowling, cards, golf, basketball, and golf (104 times in his presidency). Bear in mind, Obama doesn’t just robustly compete. The leader of the free world spends many hours practicing these trivial pursuits behind the scenes. Combine this weirdly wasted time with a consistent overestimation of his capabilities, and the result is, according to NYT’s Kantor:

He may not always be as good at everything as he thinks, including politics. While Mr. Obama has given himself high grades for his tenure in the White House — including a “solid B-plus” for his first year — many voters don’t agree, citing everything from his handling of the economy to his unfulfilled pledge that he would be able to unite Washington to his claim that he would achieve Israeli-Palestinian peace.

Those were not the only times Mr. Obama may have overestimated himself: he has also had a habit of warning new hires that he would be able to do their jobs better than they could.

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

Though he never ran a large organization before becoming president, he initially dismissed internal concerns about management and ended up with a factionalized White House and a fuzzier decision-making process than many top aides wanted.

Kantor’s portrait of Obama is stunning. It paints a picture of a CEO who is unfocused and lost.

Imagine, for a minute, that you are on the board of directors of a company. You have a CEO who is not meeting his numbers and who is suffering a declining popularity with his customers. You want to help this CEO recover, but then you learn he doesn’t want your help. He is smarter than you and eager to tell you this. Confidence or misplaced arrogance? You’re not sure at first. If the company was performing well, you’d ignore it. But the company is performing poorly, so you can’t.

With some digging, you learn, to your horror, that the troubled CEO spends a lot of time on — what the hell? — bowling? Golf? Three point shots? While the company is going south?

What do you do? You fire that CEO. Clint Eastwood was right. You let the guy go.

**********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Here we go again….

This stuff is getting SOOO tiresome….and the argument has NEVER been valid….

“You don’t like Obama because he’s black!..the fact that he’s destroying the country has absolutely NOTHING to do with it!”….

Comedian, D L Hughley is noted in a recent interview with The Daily Beast with that lame contention that you don’t like Barack Obama as President because he’s black. Gee…I’m glad he cleared that up….hmmm…let’s see..millions of WHITE Americans voted for him in 2008…myself included…so…couldn’t be that…record unemployment..out of control spending…ignoring the Constitution…alienating our allies…monthly power grabs to avoid following the law…nah…couldn’t possibly be ANY of those things…you got me, DL!…It’s because he’s black….yep…that’s it….Hughley also went on to advise Mr. Obama that he should “demand” respect in this campaign. Little does DL realize, RESPECT IS EARNED, NOT DEMANDED! And Barack Obama has most definitely FAILED to earn mine!

Mr. Hughley’s comments are further proof that Mr. Obama’s supporters have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO OFFER IN THE WAY OF HIS DISASTROUS RECORD IN OFFICE! So they resort to a tired, worn out weapon in their arsenal of defense…call anyone and everyone opposed to this President gaining a second term a racist. That’s so beyond contempt and reason and such tactics are so transparent, it’s embarrassing for Mr. Obama…

It’s been a parade of figures in entertainment and the media…from Harry Belafonte to Morgan Freeman to Chris Matthews…throwing this premise out there because they KNOW they can offer no reasonable defense of this President and his policies. Mr. Obama has been an abject failure in office. He has offered nothing but callous disregard and condescension since day one. Yet, his allies continually resort to this baseless, worthless excuse.

The fact of the matter is, should Mitt Romney prevail in November, you can count on the ratcheting up of this sort of garbage…”Mr. Obama lost because of inherent racism in this country”…”he was attacked by racist conservatives…” and more of such crap. Sadly, I’m afraid we ain’t seen nothin’ yet…
