Crystal Clear

Upon hearing of a recommendation, I’ve discovered the latest work from author William R. Forstchen…”Day of Wrath”.

If you’re familiar with a previous work, “One Second After”, you’re aware of how Forstchen accurately portrays disturbing situations few of us can fathom..or even recognize.

“Wrath” is no exception. Without giving the plot away, we’ll say the subject matter is literally part of today’s headlines. What I would like to share is the description the author creates in an analysis of our society in today’s world….

We have lived with the abnormal for so long, we believe it to be normal.”

We expect to be lied to…In fact, the truth is so rare these days that we think it is spoken only as a maneuver of the moment to cover yet another lie. Our leaders tell us to believe in them, that they do all for our good. They tell us that they fight for our rights while they travel about in entourages costing millions for their monthly vacations. They tell us to conserve, for all is running short, while their private jets take them to their next gathering. What are proclaimed to be our entertainers are experts on all things simply because they act a role in a movie. Their role model to our youth is one of dissipation, mocking any of us who try to teach our children any type of values.

News last night was of yet another thirty thousand dollar-a-plate fundraiser to pay for yet more lies to blanket their hypocrisy, to opiate us while the worshipful media stands awestruck. Every night is Oscar night in Washington with some self congratulatory award. Every day, a new scandal of the day (at least for the twenty four hour news cycle) is examined with about as much critical skill as that of entertainment reporters gasping about who left her husband for a new affair. Politics are merged with entertainment and entertainment with politics, though one used to be only for diversion while the other diversion while the other truly was, and still is, a matter of life and death.

The death of a second rate actor to drugs draws more media and mourning than the sealed metal boxes returning from the Middle East.”

The following portion is especially accurate!…

“The new daily scandal of Washington has become business as usual, to be forgotten a day later with a new scandal, a new affair. The reality show has become reality, and the real world an increasingly anesthetized dream to be ignored.

And those of us who dare to question do so with voices lowered, for, in America today the worst sin of all, the real sin, is no longer racism or hatred…it is simply fear that you might offend.

The republic was not founded by those who feared to offend. It was not created by those who were afraid to fight back. Is it time to fight back? But how do we fight back? What do we fight back against? How do we fight back?”

These excepts bring to light…for most…what is sadly our world today. To find out more, the ebook is definitely on to check out! On Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Exceptions and Excuses

Seems our esteemed president continues the grand, spineless tradition so often associated with his office..

This time at the National Prayer Breakfast…equating the acts of Christians through the ages with the barbarism we’re witnessing in the middle east.

Never one for courage when it’s needed, Barack Obama always tries to maintain a flimsy sense of what he sees as “fairness” in his observations. Unfortunately, for our nation, it is yet another hallmark of a weak, indecisive leader.

The Deafening Silence of the GOP

loud-silence

They say “the more things change, the more they stay the same”…

That is never more true than it is in American politics. With an important election a bit more than a month away, you’d certainly be unaware if it was left to the Republican party to get the word out.

With the Senate up for grabs, as well as important governorships across the nation, the political capital to be gained is significant. At least, that’s what sensible thought tells you.

Apparently not.

The Republican party has been practically silent in its response to the OBVIOUS vulnerability of Democrats across the nation. I find myself perplexed, yet not surprised. Republicans have been basically neutered since Barack Obama took office. We’re all aware of that. However, it would certainly be a logical conclusion they COULD offer a forceful alternative, should they choose to do so.

Take a look around you. Things ARE not going well on any front…socially, economically. Not  to mention our relationships abroad.

Yet, we get…nothing…It’s frustrating when it’s so plain to see the damage inflicted upon this country by the political left and the Democrats! No Republican candidate has stepped forward to point out the clarity of this situation. The confounding fact is this stuff is NOT that difficult to grasp! The lunacy of the Obama administration, coupled with COMPLETE incompetence, continues unchecked!

Witness the utter buffoonery displayed by Secretary of State, John Kerry, testifying before a Senate committee on the administration’s efforts to combat the Isis/Isil threat in the middle east.. Obviously, the moronic Kerry is more concerned with Code Pink protestors than the seriousness of the this threat..

" I understand dissent. I've lived it. That's how I first testified in front of this country in 1971. I respect the right of Code Pink to protest and to use that right. But, you know what? I also know something about Code Pink. You ought to care about fighting ISIL, because ISIL is killing and raping and mutilating women, and they believe women shouldn't have an education. They sell off girls to be sex slaves to jihadists! There is no negotiation with ISIL. There is nothing to negotiate. And they're not offering anyone health care of any kind... Y-you know, they're not offering education of any kind."

What the hell?!!!….

It’s more than obvious the important matter here is to protect the Obama administration  through the requisite pandering. THAT is priority number 1! Fortunately, there are exceptions to the GOP’s stance. Tennessee’s Senator Corker (R) lent some common sense to the proceedings….

Do you realize how unserious the things that you have laid out and the things that were laid out yesterday sound when you're discussing training 5,000 -- in you all's own words -- doctors and dentists and others in Saudi Arabia, over a year? I'm disappointed. I was disappointed in the briefing we had last week. I hope you'll lay out a plan that will convince us that you're serious about doing the things you said you're gonna do -- to the American people and to us -- about ISIL, because you haven't done it now.

But, as is true to form, you have MORONS like California’s Barbara Boxer(D) throwing in her nonsense…

I think it is shocking and a sad state of affairs that we heard just now such angry comments aimed at you, Mr. Secretary -- and through you, at our president -- instead of at ISIS, a savage group who decapitated two Americans and have warned, and I quote, that their thirst for more American blood is right out there. I think it's shocking. I'm actually shaking and trembling. This is not the time to show anger at the people who are working night and day, whether you agree with them or not, to protect our people.

Again, we ALL know where the priorities lie for Senator Boxer, and other Democrats!

The Republican party leadership has made the conscious decision to ignore the sheer stupidity and selfishness exemplified by the Obama administration and their Democrat allies. It’s disheartening to witness as the nation continues to falter. We’ve witnessed the level of this idiocy on the rise for nearly 6 years…

Unless the discouragement and frustration reaches the point where enough of the voters are fed up, nothing will change. And it’s a fact that we are NOT going to find our concerns taken seriously by either party in Washington. That point is inarguable.

“A picture is worth a thousand words…”

I’m not sure if a thousand words per picture is sufficient, when it comes to Barack Obama. Nevertheless, these are PERFECT examples of the point of this post!…I’m sure you will agree!

THE REAL WORLD!…..

Mr. Obama shares is concerns….on ‘David Letterman’……

“That’s right, Dave…The stupid people in this country are more than willing to grant me second term…I have a hard time believing it but people REALLY ARE a bunch of dumbasses..and they believe the shit coming from me…”

I mean..come on!…How can we expect Barack Obama to concern himself with world tensions..spiraling debt..record unemployment?! He has more IMPORTANT things to do…like hanging out with David Letterman…schmoozing with Beyonce..or shootin’ the sh*t with JayZ!…He can’t be bothered with being “the President”! What are you thinking?!!!

A Funny Man’s Take on the NOT so Funny…

If you’re at all familiar with the John Hughes classic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, you recognize Ben Stein as the monotone teacher attempting to explain economics to his suffering class. He’s still around in the form of humorist and columnist with a focus on the often BORING subject. Not an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, he’s no fan either. This is a great piece from his ‘Ben’s Diary’ at American Spectator! His observation on the mood out there, DESPITE what many see as a second term for the disastrous President Obama on the horizon.

END TIMES

There is that feeling in the air.

Thursday
Strange day.

I awakened to a text from a close friend who is a devout Christian and who was so angry at the elite media that she could not sleep. “I am so frikkin’ sick of the media telling us that Islam is a ‘religion of peace,'” she said. “Look, people make fun of Jesus all of the time and I mean ALL of the time and we don’t kill them or harm them. But do anything at all that offends any Muslim and they start killing Christians and Jews — and then Obama apologizes for it. How long can this go on? The times of Tribulation are at hand.”

I got up, walked out on the deck and looked out at the perfect fall day over Lake Pendoreille. An absolutely perfect Fall day, blue skies, light breeze, just a slight chill in the air.

At breakfast, my wife suddenly said, “And then I beheld a red horse ridden by a man with a great sword….”

“What is that?” I asked her.

“It’s Revelation,” she said.

“I know, but where does that come from?”

“I just feel as if something big is about to happen,” she said. “Something feels like we’re about to live in a totally changed world. It feels like end times. Why are we apologizing to the Muslims? They’re killing and expelling their Christians and we don’t say a word. End times.”

I nodded. There is that feeling in the air.

I got another text from my very devout Christian friend. “Don’t tell me Obama isn’t a Muslim,” she said. “I don’t care what he calls himself, he’s a Muslim. That’s why he’s always apologizing to the Muslims.”

I think she’s bit off the mark here. If Obama says he’s a Christian, he’s a Christian.

I slept for a long time while listening to Mozart and the trains. Then I went to the mail box and got the latest news from the Obama/Biden campaign — oops, meant to say, “The New York Times.” Naturally, it was filled with rage against Mitt Romney There was very little vitriol against the killers in Libya, but plenty against Gov. Romney.

I sure hope that the people at the Romney campaign don’t read The NY Times. It is just endless propaganda against Republicans. Nonstop. We Republicans should campaign on our own issues. Mr. Obama’s idiot foreign policy is such an issue.

I went off to do my errands in Sandpoint. A visit to a super pleasant post office. A helpful clerk was patient with my terrible handwriting. Then a visit to the Alpine Shop to see my pal, Tim Farmin, who looked happy but told me my boat needed a new battery. Then, a visit to Ivano’s to pick up some grub for tonight.

At Ivano’s, I talked to a man who seethed with rage against Mr. Obama. He simply could not believe that Mr. Obama would make time to be among his Hollywood big shots but not make time to see Benjamin Netanyahu. “These are getting to be Biblical days,” he said. “The final days.”

A trip to the art framer, then to the drug store, then to the Safeway to buy a cake. The woman in the bakery told me that the days of tribulation and the dictatorship were upon us. She is looking to move to the mountains “to find refuge…”

“Be careful,” I said. “That’s what Vicki Weaver was looking for and it didn’t work so well. Our refuge is in The Lord.”

(I am up on Vicki Weaver because I am reading an astonishingly good book about the federal killings at Ruby Ridge called Ruby Ridge by a writer of unique talent by the name of Jess Walter. It is terrifying.)

Back to Ivano’s to pick up my grub. Then back home to read the latest about the murder of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three of his staff.

Apparently word had been out for months that the most extreme of the anti-Qaddafi rebels were working with al Qaeda for 9/11. The State Department and the Defense Department had done nothing meaningful to protect the Ambassador. When the killers attacked the U.S. compound, they were heavily armed with anti-aircraft automatic cannon (a very deadly weapon) and RPG’s. They were a recognizably violent group connected with al Qaeda.

It’s amazing that Qaddafi kept saying that the people fighting against him were al Qaeda and we kept helping them — and sure enough, they turned out to be al Qaeda. And Qaddafi, who had become our friend — although a cruel and vile man — was killed by the rebels so now Libya is in large measure in the hands of al Qaeda.

Same with Egypt. Mubarak was no one’s idea of a great guy, but he was our pal. He kept the peace with Israel. He suppressed the terrorists. So, naturally, we stabbed him in the back. Now, we have worked to create an “Arab Spring” that has given us a fantastically more anti-American, anti-Israel, pro-al Qaeda Middle East.

But incredibly, Mr. Obama considers this an achievement. An achievement? To help al Qaeda and its pals, the Muslim Brotherhood, take power in the most populous Arab state? To help al Qaeda take over in oil rich Libya? What are they talking about?

I hope Mr. Romney will not let himself get pushed around by the Obama smear machine. I see that at a rally today in Virginia, his speech was derailed by a lone Obama heckler asking, “Why are you politicizing Libya?” That apparently rattled Gov. Romney badly.

The answer, should it come up again, is, “Because this is a democracy. We debate big points of foreign and domestic policy, especially during election campaigns. The failure of the administration to stand up to Muslim thugs is a big issue. Apologizing to terrorists is a big issue. The failure to protect our diplomats is a big issue. The failure to stand up for free speech is a huge issue. We are supposed to debate those things. If you don’t like that, move back to Iran or wherever you came from.”

Meanwhile, time for Mr. Romney to go back to attack mode. Why did the State Department not protect our Ambassador in Benghazi? Why isn’t Mrs. Clinton resigning over this? Why isn’t Secretary of Defense Panetta apologizing and resigning? There was a colossal failure here. The President is accountable. Why isn’t he taking some responsibility here?

The Obama smear machine is making much of the supposed time line of this week. That supposedly the worst attacks came after Mr. Romney criticized The State Department for apologizing to the Muslims for an anti-Muslim film. But of course, they are missing the point totally and on purpose.

Why should we have been apologizing as a nation to Muslims for one person making a cartoon? We didn’t apologize to the Russians when people in the USA made anti-Communist remarks. We didn’t apologize to Hitler when people in America made anti-Nazi remarks. Why do the Muslims get this special apology treatment? What’s up with that? We respect all religions, but we are not going to apologize to anyone as a people for what one guy does in his garage.

What is with Mr. Obama’s special deference to the terrorists? I am well aware that he’s done a darned fine job using drones to kill them and God bless him for it. But then why apologize to groups of people we feel are so terrible that we kill some of them without a trial or a declaration of war?

Let’s get it straight, once again: We live by the first amendment and the Constitution. Our people have freedom of speech. Even the nutty ones. We do not apologize for our Constitution.

Well, enough of that. It is time for a quiet dinner listening to the lake and the trains. For now, it is paradise. The time of tribulation has not yet come for us all, and God bless that brave Ambassador, Christopher Stevens, who was murdered and had his body dragged through the streets by people we put in power. God help us when Judgment Day comes.

Leaderless

Well…let’s see where we stand this morning….

The Middle East is still burning out of control…..the media narrative is Romney’s statements on the matter are out of line…and President Obama is off for fundraising in Las Vegas. THIS is the abject GARBAGE that describes perfectly the Presidency under Barack Obama. Yet, I STILL stand by my prediction the moronic voters of this country will award him a second term.

In the meantime, here’s a spot on perspective from the End of the American Dream Blog:

THANKS OBAMA! – THE TERRORISTS YOU USED TO TOPPLE REGIMES IN EGYPT AND LIBYA ARE NOW ATTACKING OUR EMBASSIES!

“The truth is that the U.S. government has absolutely no idea what it is doing in the Middle East!”

Many of us tried to warn Barack Obama that using militants from al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations to overthrow governments in the Middle East would not end well.  The Obama administration has been so determined to get rid of some of these dictators in the Middle East that they have not even really stopped to think about who would be replacing them.  Our leaders assured us that those opposed to Mubarak and Gaddafi were “freedom fighters” that just wanted “liberty” and “democracy” in those countries.  Well, of course it turns out that the folks that took control of both Egypt and Libya bear no resemblance to George Washington whatsoever.  They have simply replaced one form of tyranny with an even worse form of tyranny.  Sadly, the last couple of days have been a huge wake up call for all of us.  Radical Islamic militants stormed the U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt and replaced the American flag with the al-Qaeda flag.  In Benghazi, Libya the U.S. consulate was attacked by a crowd equipped with guns, homemade bombs and rocket-propelled grenades.  They torched the consulate, looted it, and killed the U.S. ambassador and three other U.S. officials.  Apparently they are not as grateful for our help in “liberating” their homelands as the Obama administration thought they would be.  Unfortunately, our politicians fundamentally misunderstand what is going on in the Middle East, and this is going to continue to lead to more policy errors.

For years, our politicians told us that “al-Qaeda” was the big enemy in the “War on Terror”.

But then during the “Arab Spring” the U.S. government was openly working with “al-Qaeda” and a bunch of other similar organizations all over the Middle East to overthrow established governments.

To say that our approach to the Middle East has been “inconsistent” would be a massive understatement.

After the protesters stormed the U.S. embassy in Cairo, they made it very clear who they are aligned with.  They tore down the U.S. flag and desecrated it, and they put up a black Islamic flag in its place.

So what did the black flag have on it?  The following is how CNN described the flag….

The black flag, which hangs atop a ladder inside the compound, is adorned with white characters that read, “There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger,” an emblem often used in al Qaeda propaganda.

This is very reminiscent of what happened in Libya in the days after the toppling of Gaddafi.  At the time, the Daily Mail and other international media organizations posted pictures of the black al-Qaeda flag flying high and proud over the courthouse in Benghazi….

The black flag of Al Qaeda was hoisted in Libya yesterday as Nato formally ended its military campaign.

The standard fluttered from the roof of the courthouse in Benghazi, where the country’s new rulers have imposed sharia law since seizing power.

Today, the new government in Egypt is completely dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood.  They hold 47 percent of the seats in parliament and the new president of Egypt belongs to the organization.

So how are they responding to this incident?

Well, they have issued a half-hearted condemnation of the attacks in English, and they have also announced that new protests against the anti-Islam film that originally sparked the violence will be held in Tahrir Square on Friday.

I’m sure that a new round of mass protests will definitely calm everyone down.

Or not.

Hopefully the U.S. embassy in Egypt will have significantly strengthened security by Friday.

In Libya, the U.S. consulate has been essentially destroyed.

You can see pictures of what the U.S. consulate in Benghazi looks like after the attack right here.

Looters took off with whatever they were able to carry.  Reporters saw some people carrying desks, chairs and even washing machines away from the consulate.

The U.S. ambassador, Chris Stevens, was killed along with three other U.S. officials.

You can see a photo of an unconscious Stevens being carried through the streets after the attack right here.

So who was responsible for the attack?

Once again, it appears to have been Islamic radicals associated with al-Qaeda.  The following is from a Reuters article about this incident….

“The attack was believed to have been carried out by Ansar al-Sharia, an al Qaeda-style Sunni Islamist group that has been active in Benghazi, a Libyan security official said. Witnesses said the mob also included tribesmen, militia and other gunmen.

Ansar al-Sharia cars arrived at the start of the protest but left once fighting started, Hamam said. “The protesters were running around the compound just looking for Americans, they just wanted to find an American so they could catch one.”

Most Americans thought that it was a good idea for the Obama administration to back “the rebels” that were fighting to overthrow Gaddafi, but perhaps more people should have been asking what those “rebels” actually stand for.

The following is what former CIA officer Bruce Riedel once said about the composition of the fighters that were attempting to overthrow Gaddafi….

“There is no question that al-Qaida’s Libyan franchise, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, is a part of the opposition. It has always been Gadhafi’s biggest enemy and its stronghold is Benghazi. What is unclear is how much of the opposition is al-Qaida/Libyan Islamic Fighting Group – 2 percent or 80 percent.”

The leader of the Libyan rebel forces even admitted that some of the very same militants that were shooting at U.S. troops in Iraq were among those that were seeking to “liberate” Libya.  The following is from a 2011 article in the Telegraph….

“Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.”

You can find much more on the link between al-Qaeda and the rebel forces in Libya right here.

So we were shooting at them in Iraq but we supplied them with weapons and gave them air support in Libya?

What kind of nonsense is that?

The truth is that the U.S. government has absolutely no idea what it is doing in the Middle East.

And it looks like more trouble is ahead.

There were other anti-U.S. protests in Sudan, the Gaza Strip and Tunisia on Wednesday.

Sadly, even the top officials in our own government fail to grasp why these militants hate us.  In response to the torching of the consulate in Benghazi, Hillary Clinton asked the following question….

“Today, many Americans are asking, indeed I ask myself … How could this happen in a country we helped liberate in a city we helped save from destruction?”

And of course foreign policy has never been a point of emphasis for Barack Obama.

In fact, it has been reported that he skips more than half of his daily intelligence meetings.

So the blind are leading the blind and we continue to make mistake after mistake in the Middle East.

When will we ever learn?

THE OBAMA BLAME GAME BEGINS – Powerline

SEPT 11, 2012 – ANOTHER DISASTROUS AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE FAILURE – The U.K. Telegraph
